This creative walking meditation workshop focuses on connecting with the vibrant
networks of mycelium and lively cycles of the soil beneath our feet. Led by artist Kath
Fries, we will be exploring contemplative movements of walking and breathing, along
with visualisation techniques to attentively feel more deeply into our interdependence
with the earth. Step by step, and breath by breath, we will be using simple mindful
practices and walking meditation to imaginatively feel into the vast networks of
mycelium beneath our feet, developing ways of understanding how we are
inextricably part of our surroundings and living cycles of growth, death, decay and
renewal.
Taking place in Blackheath, on Dharug and Gundungurra Country, we will
be reflecting on the fascinating funga, flora, fauna interdependences in this area of
the Blue Mountains. Mycelium Walking Meditation Workshop invites us to focused
embodied engagements of being present within the complexities of these endemic
and introduced entangled ecologies.
